Small, stubborn white bumps can be difficult to treat at home. Our precise milia removal treatment carefully targets unwanted milia, helping to leave the skin looking clearer and smoother.

Clearer skin, without picking or squeezing

Milia are small, firm, white or pale bumps that commonly appear around the eyes, cheeks and other areas of the face. They form when keratin becomes trapped beneath the surface of the skin.

Although milia are generally harmless and may sometimes clear naturally, they can remain for months and may become a cosmetic concern. Professional removal offers a safe, controlled alternative to attempting to squeeze or extract them at home.

At Beverley Alexandra, we use a precise plasma device to treat suitable milia while minimising disruption to the surrounding skin.

Milia removal may be suitable for

  • Small white or cream-coloured bumps
  • Milia around the cheeks, forehead or eye area
  • Individual milia or several small areas
  • Persistent milia that have not cleared naturally
  • Clients who would prefer professional removal rather than attempting extraction at home

Every appointment begins with an assessment to make sure the area is suitable for treatment.

How does milia removal work?

The plasma device delivers a very small, controlled arc of energy to the treatment area. This allows Beverley to work precisely on the unwanted milia without treating more surrounding skin than necessary.

A topical anaesthetic cream may be applied before treatment to make the appointment more comfortable.

Following treatment, the area may appear red and small crusts may form. These should be allowed to heal and shed naturally.

What to expect after treatment

The treated area may feel sensitive and appear slightly red immediately after your appointment. Tiny crusts may develop as the skin heals.

It is important not to scratch, pick or remove these prematurely. Full aftercare instructions will be provided during your appointment.

The skin should also be protected from sun exposure while it is healing.

Beverley has done an amazing job of my lips. They look so natural and she made me feel very at ease during my appointments. She really knows her stuff and advised me what I needed, which was different to what I had originally thought. She was completely right and I’m so happy with the results. The clinic is also stunning and parking is easy.

I can’t recommend Bev enough! She is so professional, excellent at what she does, knowledgeable, she has a beautiful clinic, loads of different options so you can everything done in one place, friendly and approachable.
What Bev is also, she is honest. You won’t get any treatment you don’t need. You are not just a paycheque, she cares about you and your results. You face is her training, knowledge and work so you won’t leave looking less than 100% of your potential.
People keep telling me how fresh I look, but they can’t see what I have had done because it’s so natural , I have to point it out.
I will be a client of Bev’s for as long as she’ll have me!

I couldn’t recommend Beverley enough! I had fat dissolving injections, lip filler and chin filler with her, and I’m so happy with my results. From the very beginning, she was incredibly informative, honest and took the time to create a personalised treatment plan that was effective while still looking subtle and natural.

The results have given me such a confidence boost, and I really appreciated how truthful she was about what would and wouldn’t work for me rather than trying to oversell treatments. Her clinic is absolutely spotless, professional and made me feel comfortable throughout every appointment.

If you’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about achieving natural-looking results and puts your best interests first, I would highly recommend.

FAQs

Milia are tiny cysts containing keratin, a protein naturally found in the skin. They typically appear as small white or pale bumps beneath the surface.

Milia are generally harmless and do not always require treatment. Some disappear naturally, while others remain for longer. Removal is usually chosen for cosmetic reasons or because the milia are bothering the client.

Milia do not usually have an open pore and can be difficult to squeeze. Attempting to pick or remove them yourself may irritate the skin and increase the risk of marking or infection.

The standard appointment includes the removal of up to five suitable milia. Larger areas or additional lesions can be discussed during your consultation.

The individual milia that have been treated should be removed, but new milia can develop elsewhere in the future.

Milia frequently appear around the eye area, but every lesion and treatment area must be assessed individually before treatment.

Beverley will assess the area before proceeding. Anything that appears unusual, cannot be confidently identified or requires medical investigation will not be treated, and you may be advised to speak to your GP or a dermatologist.
